Volleyball Game Preview: Spring Valley Cardinals vs. Clear Lake Warriors

The Spring Valley Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Clear Lake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Spring Valley comes in on four and Clear Lake on 15.

Spring Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Phillips 3-0.

Spring Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Phillips between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-20.

Spring Valley found their leader in freshman Kemri Schlegel, who had 21 digs and two aces. Schlegel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Spring Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Clear Lake got the win against Hurley on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Clear Lake walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14, 25-18.

Spring Valley's record now sits at 20-10. As for Clear Lake, their record is now 28-8.

Spring Valley came up short against Clear Lake when the teams last played on October 7th, falling 3-1. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
