Softball Recap: Vienna Takes a Loss

The Vienna Eagles lost 18-6 to the Plano Reapers on Saturday.

Laney Slife was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Rayonna Ridley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Vienna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Vienna's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Plano, their record is now 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vienna will welcome Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Vienna is facing Meridian at the right time seeing as Meridian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Plano, they will host Mendota at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
