Softball Recap: Santee Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orthopaedic, Santee was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 24-20 victory over the West Adams Panthers. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Julissa Castillo and Rose Reyes did most of the damage at the plate: Castillo fired off two home runs, three stolen bases, and five RBI while getting on base in five of her nine plate appearances, while Reyes went 4-for-6 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI Castillo has posted since back in April of 2025. Michelle Mendez was another key player, getting on base in five of her ten plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Santee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Santee's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for West Adams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Santee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-6 defeat against Dr. Maya Angelou Community on the 10th. As for West Adams, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-8 loss against Diego Rivera on the 10th.
