Baseball Game Preview: Madison Warhawks vs. Mira Mesa Marauders

For the second straight game, Madison will face off against Mira Mesa. The Warhawks will challenge the Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Madison has four straight wins, Mira Mesa has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Madison narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mira Mesa 9-7.

Charlie Kroning looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, William Barden was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Landis Nguyen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Mira Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13-1.
