Gilford extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 5-3 in the process. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Inter-Lakes Lakers. Considering the Golden Eagles have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Inter-Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Gilford: they've now lost six in a row.

For Inter-Lakes' part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brogan Donnelly, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That run was Donnelly's first of the season.

Looking ahead, Gilford will venture away from home to challenge Winnisquam at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Inter-Lakes, they will host Belmont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight.
