Basketball Game Preview: Moorcroft Wolves vs. Tongue River Eagles

The Moorcroft Wolves will challenge the Tongue River Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Moorcroft has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight losses, while Tongue River will come in with 27 straight wins.

Last Saturday, Moorcroft ended up a good deal behind Big Horn and lost 54-35.

Despite the defeat, Moorcroft had strong showings from London McCrea, who went 7-for-15 on her way to 20 points and four steals, and Talia Vargas, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That's the most steals Vargas has posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tongue River). They claimed a resounding 72-43 victory over Wright. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Tongue River pushed their record up to 18-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Moorcroft, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Moorcroft was taken down by Tongue River 69-24 in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Moorcroft was down 37-16.
