Football Recap: Pinconning Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pinconning lost against Standish-Sterling back in August of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Standish-Sterling can attribute much of their success to Joel Bellor, who rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 33 yards and one TD.

Pinconning has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Standish-Sterling's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinconning will venture away from home to square off against Carrollton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Standish-Sterling, they are taking a road trip to take on Reed City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
