Basketball Recap: St. David Comes Up Short

If St. David was riding high fresh off their 67-27 takedown of Patagonia on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. David Tigers lost to the Desert Christian Eagles on the road by a 61-45 margin on Thursday. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Tyson Dobbins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Desert Christian, going 9 of 15 on his way to 36 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Dobbins is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Ayala, who posted five points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. David fell to 3-1. As for Desert Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Baboquivari the next time they take the court. Desert Christian will head out to face Baboquivari at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. David will head out to face them at 4:20 p.m. on Friday.
