Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mateja Cousins and Gabby Procopio Lead Cactus Shadows to Victory + How To Watch

Cactus Shadows not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since November 5, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Vista Grande Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cactus Shadows took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-13.

Cactus Shadows was led to victory by Gabby Procopio and Mateja Cousins. Procopio had 14 digs and two aces, while Cousins had six assists. Procopio is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Sophia Scott also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Cactus Shadows was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last four matches.

Cactus Shadows' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Vista Grande, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cactus Shadows will welcome Mingus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Grande, they will face off against Cholla at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
