Baseball Recap: Stanley-Boyd's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Stanley-Boyd entered their tilt with Bruce on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Red Raiders. That's two games straight that the Orioles have won by exactly ten runs.

Alex Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Stanley-Boyd is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-12 otherwise. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Josiah Demske and Landon Ewer did most of the damage at the plate: Demske went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Ewer went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Demske has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jackson Gindt, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Stanley-Boyd's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Bruce, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Stanley-Boyd will welcome Colfax at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bruce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
