Soccer Game Preview: North Oconee vs. Marist

The North Oconee Titans will square off against the Marist War Eagles on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Oconee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Jackson a 5-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for North Oconee.

Meanwhile, Marist made easy work of Cambridge on Thursday and carried off a 6-1 victory. Given Marist's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Cambridge are ranked 65th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marist's win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for North Oconee, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

North Oconee couldn't quite get it done against Marist when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
