Soccer Game Preview: Loudoun County vs. Broad Run

The Loudoun County Captains are taking a road trip to face off against the Broad Run Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Loudoun County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Loudoun County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by five) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Woodgrove 1-0. Loudoun County's winning goal came courtesy of Brian Ayewouadan.

Meanwhile, Broad Run has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 21. Neither they nor Park View could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The victory was some much needed relief for Broad Run as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Loudoun County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. Broad Run's draw gives them a new season record of 4-9-2.

Loudoun County was able to grind out a solid win over Broad Run in their previous meeting on Friday, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Captains since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
