Basketball Game Preview: Village Tech Viper Squid vs. Gateway Charter Academy Gators

The Village Tech Viper Squid will venture away from home to face off against the Gateway Charter Academy Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Village Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Gateway Charter Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Village Tech proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 26) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They escaped with a win against Trinity Leadership by the margin of a single free throw, 29-28. The win was familiar territory for the Viper Squid, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Gateway Charter Academy is still winless after their matchup against Madison on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Trojans. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Gators who fell 3-0 when the teams previously met back in January of 2025.

Gateway Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Village Tech, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
