Basketball Recap: Freeport Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

If Holmes County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Freeport, they should've done a better job of containing Julius Miles. The Freeport Bulldogs secured a 61-56 W over the Holmes County Blue Devils on Monday thanks in part to Miles, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Freeport's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Javaughn Voss, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Freeport has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Holmes County, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Freeport has already played their next match, a 74-67 defeat against North Bay Haven Academy on the 28th. As for Holmes County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-38 win against Sneads on the 28th.
