Softball Recap: Capital Golden Eagles vs. Owyhee Storm

On Thursday, Capital faced Owyhee in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Capital Golden Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Owyhee Storm 11-10. Capital's win was all the more impressive since Owyhee was averaging only 2.65 runs allowed on the season.

Tyra Price was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy Turpen, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.

On Owyhee's side, Haiylee Reeves and Samantha Hatzenbeller did some serious damage despite the final result: Reeves went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs, while Hatzenbeller went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. The victory made it two in a row for Capital and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Owyhee, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2.

Capital didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-7 defeat vs. Rocky Mountain on the 26th. Owyhee has also already played their next game, a 13-5 win against Centennial on the 26th.
