The matchup between Middletown and St. Helena on Friday hardly resembled the 9-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs fell 41-34 to the Saints. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Helena to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Earls, who rushed for 148 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Earls is now averaging an impressive 104.3 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Jhony Covarrubias, who rushed for 80 yards and four touchdowns.

Middletown's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for St. Helena, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
