Basketball Recap: Discovery Canyon Extends Winning Streak to Four

Discovery Canyon won the last time they faced Elizabeth and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Discovery Canyon Thunder's way against the Elizabeth Cardinals as the Discovery Canyon Thunder made off with a 53-32 victory. While the Thunder didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Discovery Canyon to victory were Addison Hulse and Isabelle Ackerman. Hulse went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds, while Ackerman posted four points in addition to nine assists, six boards, and five steals. The dominant performance gave Ackerman a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Natalie Neuhaus, who had eight points and six steals.

The win (which was Discovery Canyon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. As for Elizabeth, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Discovery Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-38 defeat against Palmer Ridge on the 16th. Elizabeth has also already played their next game (against Wheat Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
