Baseball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. Southwest SD Raiders

For the second straight game, Castle Park will face off against Southwest SD. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Castle Park has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 8.

Castle Park couldn't beat Southwest SD on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Trojans fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 5-4.

For Southwest SD's part, Fernando Ruiz looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ruiz also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Raiders are undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 8-11-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sebestian Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Legorreta, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The win got Southwest SD back to even at 11-11-1. As for Castle Park, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
