Baseball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Civic Memorial Eagles

For the second straight game, Jersey will face off against Civic Memorial. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Jersey came up short against Civic Memorial and fell 8-4.

For Civic Memorial's part, Brayden Prott tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Prott has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Butler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Godar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Civic Memorial's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Jersey, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
