Due to a transfer earlier this school year, highly-touted freshman Bol Bol — son of former NBA center Manute Bol — has been plying his trade on the Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission, Kan.) junior varsity team this season.

MaxPreps photographer Sam Soliday was on hand to capture the action Friday night as Bol and the JV Stags took on Gardner-Edgerton.

Born in Sudan (now South Sudan), Manute Bol played 10 seasons in the NBA and is believed to be the second-tallest player in league history at 7-foot-6. Prior to his untimely death in 2010, he became well-known for his political activism.

Bol Bol is a promising talent in his own right. He's reported to be in the 6-10 range and has already drawn the attention of the New York Times, in addition to MaxPreps.
