The Providence Day Chargers will head out to challenge the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Providence Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Providence Day was able to grind out a solid win over Ravenscroft, taking the game 6-1. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Matthew Emery made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Like Providence Day, North Raleigh Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Kai Patton. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Patton was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Banks Woody, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Providence Day, their record now sits at 3-1.
Both Providence Day and North Raleigh Christian Academy just can't seem to miss. Providence Day has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like North Raleigh Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
