Basketball Recap: Ariton Purple Cats vs. Kinston Bulldogs
Ariton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Kinston Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 50-27. The Purple Cats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row dating back to last season.
Ariton's loss came despite strong showings from Nya Allen and Macileigh Bragg. Allen scored 12 points in addition to two steals, while Bragg scored four points plus 11 rebounds and two steals.
The win for Kinston keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Ariton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Slocomb at 5:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Kinston, they will head out to face off against Opp at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kinston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
