Santa Monica had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They never let the Leuzinger Olympians get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Not much got past Gavin Kirtley, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Leuzinger off the board.

At the plate, Santa Monica's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blue Hunter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Santa Monica pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Leuzinger, they moved to 14-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Santa Monica will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Olympians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
