 Maplewood was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 27-0 walloping at the hands of the Lawson Lightning. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Maplewood of the  22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  on Thursday.
 For Lawson's part,  Addison Kuhlmeyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Kuhlmeyer was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing eight bases while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Destiny Steele was a standout: she went 3-for-3 with four  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Brysonn Jones, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Maplewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lawson, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Maplewood by a score of  22-0 later that day.
