Softball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-4 to the Monmouth Academy Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ramblers of the 15-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Monmouth Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winthrop is set to take on their familiar foe Mount Abram at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monmouth Academy will face off against rival Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
