Mercer put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cochranton Cardinals 70-41. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Cardinals are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mercer pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Cochranton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Mercer will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Kennedy Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mercer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Cochranton and West Middlesex will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th.
