Basketball Game Preview: Mosley Dolphins vs. Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks

The Mosley Dolphins will head out to take on the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mosley will be strutting in after a victory while Port St. Joe will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Mosley was fully in charge, breezing past North Bay Haven Academy 58-26.

Mosley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Alvarado, who posted 17 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lovelee Holley, who had 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Mosley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 17 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Port St. Joe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 34-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin County.

Mosley will need focus on slowing down KK McNair, one of several Port St. Joe players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Hill, who put up eight points and four steals.

Mosley's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Port St. Joe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything came up roses for Mosley against Port St. Joe in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 47-19 win. Does Mosley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Port St. Joe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
