Baseball Recap: Valhalla Comes Up Short

Valhalla had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-15 to make it nine. They fell 3-0 to the Granite Hills Eagles. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Norsemen were not able to get on the board.

As for Granite Hills, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 15-0-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Granite Hills' part, the result came thanks to Luke Bailey's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. Bailey has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brenden Lewis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Granite Hills beat Valhalla by a score of 8-2 on Friday.
