Soccer Game Preview: Gompers vs. Columbia

The Gompers Panthers will venture away from home to take on Columbia at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Gompers got the win against IN-Tech Academy by a conclusive 7-1. Gompers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by five goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Columbia was able to grind out a solid win over Washington Heights Expeditionary last Thursday, taking the game 4-2. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Columbia's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Washington Heights Expeditionary is ranked 240th).

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Gompers, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-2.
