Softball Game Preview: Cuba-Rushford Rebels vs. Andover Panthers

The Cuba-Rushford Rebels will square off against the Andover Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cuba-Rushford will be strutting in after a win while Andover will be coming in after a loss.

Cuba-Rushford's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Campbell-Savona with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Arlah Shaffer and Aubrey Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Shaffer went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Williams went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Kunz, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Andover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to Fillmore.

Cuba-Rushford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Andover, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Cuba-Rushford took their victory against Andover in their previous matchup on Saturday by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
