Baseball Game Preview: Denver Christian Thunder vs. The Academy Wildcats

Denver Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Colorado Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-2 to the Mustangs. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Denver Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Stork, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, The Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forge Christian.

The Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Denver Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

The Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Denver Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for The Academy, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Denver Christian's hitters?

Denver Christian took their win against The Academy in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
