Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont vs. Sun Valley

Piedmont is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Sun Valley a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Piedmont Panthers will welcome the Sun Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Piedmont has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Piedmont is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Monroe on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Redhawks by a score of 5-4. Even if Piedmont couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Sun Valley came up short against Cuthbertson on Wednesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Sun Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Cuthbertson are ranked 19th).

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-3. As for Sun Valley, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.
