With a playoff win on the line, Saint Francis Catholic rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Wolves have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Saint Francis Catholic got a great performance from Jake Long as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Long has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Williams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andy Janelle, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Saint Francis Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peniel Baptist Academy only posted an OBP of .158.

The win (which was Saint Francis Catholic's seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.
