Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pickering

Pickering waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the East Beauregard Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Trojans last Tuesday, they had to take a 12-8 loss.

Ava Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Pickering got a massive performance out of Emma Jarrell, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Jarrell a new career-high. Alayna Yates was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pickering kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pickering's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for East Beauregard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Coming up, Pickering will square off against Pitkin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. East Beauregard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
