Recap: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. Pamlico County Hurricanes

While it was all tied up 32-32 at halftime, the Lejeune Devil Pups were not quite the Pamlico County Hurricanes's equal in the second half on Friday. Lejeune fell 72-62 to Pamlico County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (61), Lejeune still had to take the loss.

Several Devil Pups players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devon Charles, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Charles hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Trevor Highsmith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Lejeune has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Pamlico County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lejeune will take on Northside - Pinetown at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pamlico County, they will head out on the road to square off against East Carteret at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (East Carteret is ranked 233rd, while Pamlico County is ranked 250th).
