Volleyball Recap: Baldwin County Takes a Loss

Baldwin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Daphne Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Claire Schuler paced Baldwin County's offense, picking up three kills. Schuler got some help from Sadie Wiggins and her three assists.

Leading Daphne to victory were Makenzie Valentine and Grace Thigpen. Valentine had seven digs and three aces, while Thigpen had 14 assists and two aces. Thigpen has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Baldwin County's loss dropped their record down to 6-31. As for Daphne, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-17 record this season.

Baldwin County has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Vestavia Hills on the 10th. As for Daphne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Arab on the 10th.
