Preview: Shenandoah Zeps vs. Catholic Central Crusaders
The Shenandoah Zeps will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Catholic Central Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Shenandoah's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shadyside. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central was beaten by Bishop Rosecrans 76-44 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Catholic Central has scored all season.
Shenandoah has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Catholic Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Shenandoah and Catholic Central were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Shenandoah came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss. Can Shenandoah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
