Football Recap: Center Hill Mustangs vs. Southwind Jaguars
Center Hill lost against Southwind back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Center Hill Mustangs took a 34-17 bruising from the Southwind Jaguars.
Kelvin Perkins had a dynamite game for Southwind, rushing for 180 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 63 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards.
Center Hill dropped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Southwind, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center Hill will take on Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwind, they will challenge Munford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwind knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Munford likes a good challenge.
