Soccer Game Preview: Burkburnett vs. Bridgeport

Burkburnett is 0-10 against Bridgeport since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Burkburnett Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Bridgeport Bulls at 7:45 p.m. Bridgeport took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Burkburnett, who comes in off a win.

Burkburnett took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mineral Wells, sneaking past 1-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Bridgeport was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Decatur who was credited with the win. Decatur got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Bridgeport's three. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Eagles are ranked 91st).

Burkburnett's victory bumped their record up to 6-9-1. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Burkburnett suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Bridgeport in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Burkburnett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
