Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Warriors vs. Mendon Unity Mustangs

The Calhoun Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Mendon Unity Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Calhoun's last matchup with Father McGivney Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Warriors had to suffer through a 57-29 loss at the hands of the Griffins. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Griffins are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mendon Unity, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took down Rushville-Industry 61-46 on Monday. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mendon Unity, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Calhoun might still be hurting after the 55-35 loss they got from Mendon Unity in their previous matchup back in February of 2018. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
