Volleyball Recap: Bridgeport Central Takes a Loss

Bridgeport Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Staples Wreckers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-12.

Malik Denton paced Bridgeport Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Denton got some help from Tin Nguyen and his 14 assists.

Bridgeport Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Staples, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Bridgeport Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Norwalk on the 10th. As for Staples, they will challenge Ridgefield at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
