Albuquerque Academy is 9-1 against Grants since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Albuquerque Academy will challenge Grants at 3:00 p.m. Albuquerque Academy has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Albuquerque Academy's offense. They came up short against Piedra Vista on Saturday, falling 17-0. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grants, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Zuni on Tuesday. The Pirates have beaten the Thunderbirds the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Thunderbirds has come to flipping the script.

Alynn Othole looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Delilah Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Aubrhyanna Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Grants kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zuni only managed one hit.

Albuquerque Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Grants, their record now sits at 2-4.

Albuquerque Academy took their victory against Grants in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 20-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Albuquerque Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
