Volleyball Recap: Abigail Geerts Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin Road Christian, Lancaster Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on September 5th.

Lancaster Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lancaster Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abigail Geerts, who had 11 digs, eight kills, and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Geerts a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Wilkerson, who had 17 digs and seven kills.

Lancaster Christian Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mount Juliet Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Lancaster Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on October 6. Mount Juliet Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
