Volleyball Recap: Newman Smith Comes Up Short

Newman Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Reedy Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Newman Smith took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.

Newman Smith's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Reedy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newman Smith is set to take on their familiar foe Highland Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Reedy will challenge rival Turner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
