Football Recap: J.I. Burton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

J.I. Burton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They took a blow against the Twin Springs Titans, falling 55-13. The Black Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Peyton Brummitte threw for 26 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Mark Miller rushed for 80 yards.

As for Twin Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Twin Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clay Ross, who rushed for 168 yards and five TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes. That's the most rushing yards Ross has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julian Pascual, who gained 178 total yards.

J.I. Burton will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Twin Springs, they will challenge Craig County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
