Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairmont). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 68-32 victory over the Belmont Bison. Given the Firebirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Bison are ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Fairmont and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Belmont, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairmont will venture away from home to face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairmont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Belmont, they will challenge Beavercreek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
