Volleyball Recap: Southland Falls Despite Big Games from Shannon Kiefer and Lauren Sorgatz + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Southland can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Spring Grove Lions on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rebels have suffered since September 18th.

Southland was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-12.

Lauren Sorgatz and Shannon Kiefer certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Sorgatz had 11 assists and nine digs, while Kiefer had ten digs and six kills. Kiefer has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 14 times she's played.

The defeat snapped Southland's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 13-7 record. As for Spring Grove, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 16-12 record.

Southland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spring Grove, they will face off against Fillmore Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
