Soccer Game Preview: St. Laurence vs. Chicago Mt. Carmel

The St. Laurence Vikings will square off against the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Laurence is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

St. Laurence's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Nazareth Academy 3-0. Considering St. Laurence have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Chicago Mt. Carmel fell victim to Lyons and their airtight defense on Sunday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Chicago Mt. Carmel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Lyons are ranked 17th).

St. Laurence's victory bumped their record up to 12-2-2. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5-1 record this season.

St. Laurence skirted past Chicago Mt. Carmel 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Caravan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
