Volleyball Game Preview: Mitchell Tigers vs. Alliance Bulldogs

Mitchell is 1-9 against Alliance since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mitchell lost 3-0 to Bridgeport on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Bulldogs since October 5, 2023.

Mitchell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: freshman Caitlyn Hoehn had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Hoehn. Alexandra Galloway also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Alliance came up short against St. Thomas More on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Alliance's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-22.

Mitchell couldn't quite get it done against Alliance in their previous matchup on Saturday as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
