Basketball Recap: Luke Henderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East over Heights

East lost against Heights back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The East Aces lost 66-41 to the Heights Falcons. The game marked the Aces' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Aces players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Henderson, who posted 12 points. Jaylen Phillips-Grey was another key player, putting up ten points.

Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was K'Mari Holt, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Holt is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Robinson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

East now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Heights, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

After both having extra time off, East and North will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Heights, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Heights Falcons take on the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Bishop Carroll likes a good challenge.
